I did my research before buying this stove, as knew absolutely nothing about wood/multi fuel burners before the purchase. I knew I wanted it to be British made and I needed a separate ash can and to be able to riddle it without opening the door. I wish I had one years ago! It needs little attention and throws out a lot of heat – especially for the size. It idles quite happily and can be left for hours then just a turn of the vent and off it goes. If there was a downside, the wood needs to be cut small to fit it in but that is the ONLY downside. Am reccommending to all friends. One of the best purchases I have ever made

looks fantastic, very well built(cast iron), and can burn for several hours between refuelling. The ventilations and screen wash simple and affective. When burning at maximum, warms the room very well. and if sat close brings out a sweat!

when burning more slowly, the glass screen gets darkened, but this burns off when the stove is heated up again. I cleaned the glass with a cleaner once in spring, and it looked as good as new.

Its a small stove, and so i guess you’d expect smaller internal dimensions, – logs need to be about 20cms long, – ok as long as you know that,
Ash is simply scrapped off the bottom (and resembles a fine powder- I guess as more efficiently burned than an open fire)

I walked into a fire shop and that was the first that caught my eye so I did some research on it and all the forums seemed to recommend this model. I am very pleased with the performance of this stove and would happily recommend it to others.

Fantastic little work horse. Does exactly what it says on the tin the output far exceeded our expectations, and looks fantastic.
We live in a 1930 extended semi, room size 24′ x 13′ with suspended floors with wood flooring. the adacent room 13′ x 13′ same floor layout is comfortably heated with the radiators switched off, this fantastic little stove also warms the whole house during those chilly days when you don’t want the full heating system on.

Buy with Confidence, fully recommend this product and I know how difficult it is when your looking at the market choice.

This is a cracking little stove and fits beautifully in our cottage. Easy to light and really kicks out the heat when it gets going. Glass will clear when it burns hot, but can be easily cleaned (with damp newspaper dipped in ash). Can leave it to chug over for several hours, but not able to get it through the night on wood alone.
The ash pan does not fit that snugly and you have to get a shaped poker or brush in to clear the ash from the back (if you want it really clean) -this is a minor negative though.
Echo others comments about needing small logs (9 inch) which many suppliers cannot guarantee, but it is a small stove, so to be expected.
Still looks great – I think the style will date well. It is one of my favourite possessions and the bonus is, it can come too when we move.

Fantastic stove never had a problem with it at all, easy to light and you can turn it down before you go to bed and start it up in the morning again. The heat it gives out is great we have a large living/dining space and it works perfectly. The rooms are still warm in the morning. Its easy to clean and it looks great what more could you want, we love it :o)

This stove was bought for two reasons; efficiency and build quality at a good price (+ made in Britain).

Heat output is good for a room that is 5.7×2.5×2.35 mtrs with two outside walls facing north.

The not so good news is an irritation with ash removal – it is awkward to remove all the ash as it lies along the side wall edges by the ashpan & especially under the shaker bar that ‘griddles’ the grate. Would be nice if ash cleaning could be made easier, perhaps with a sloping cover that lets ash go straight to the pan?

The real problem is the flue outlet spigot! It has too large an internal diameter (138mm) to allow a standard 125mm flue pipe to fit comfortably. The fire rope used as packing is not ideal a solution if you have to remove the flue for cleaning. Would be nice if a different sized spigot for 125mm flues were supplied. I believe AGA want to supply an expensive adapter.

Other than the above points, it is certainly worth consideration in the 5kW size.

We bought this for a room which has three outside walls and needed extra heating and a focal point. Having an Aga cooker already, we knew the quality would be good. A friend who has a Little Wenlock and would buy no other woodburner recommended it. We looked at all the options for a stove of around 5kw and decided the priorities were efficiency, quality and cost. The Little Wenlock is dearer than some cheap European alternatives but it is such a good casting. Its performance rating seemed to be second to none. If you are spending upwards of £1000 on flue and installation, it makes no sense to penny pinch on the stove. The Little Wenlock is not only easy to use, it burns so much lessfuel than many other 5kw models and using oak or adding some solid fuel will keeo it in overnight. There are several controls to boost air when lighting – or to keep it ticking over.
The airwash keeps the glass clean and just a wipe over daily means you can watch the logs flickering. It is easy to clean out with a large ashpan. Emptying and re-inserting the pan will get most of the ash out. There is so little depris that you can put the ash round the roses for examp[le. The door lock desiogn is perfect as it doesn’t retain heat. We would not hesitate to recommend the Little Wenlock.

I love this little stove, its perfect for us.

Watching the flames through the glass and feeding it little pieces of wood is brilliant.

Only one -ve could be is the top vent is a bit stiff but this could be because we never use it and always leave it open, controlling the fire using the bottom vent.

It’s the secondary source of heating in our house, (gas central heating) but it saves having to use it on chilly nights and when we are only using one room(large room 20x12x12).

Its a baby sized heater with great performance and exceptionally well priced.

For long years we were accustomed to excellent stoves of Vermont Castings, but after we renovated our house their capacity became too important. So we did some research for a nice looking stove with a modest capacity, and we found that the Aga Little Wenlock Classic fitted most our needs. If functions well, but the only point we feel it is not perfect is that it is not completely smokeproof.
As we live in France and we could not get this stove in our country a special word for Firesonline that delivered the stove in good condition and with a very good and friendly service.

After having our little stove for two years I feel that we are
able to comment on it. First it is well designed and made as are
all AGA products and second it performs realy well with the fuel we are using which is Taybrite. We kept to this after trying about five. The control of air is so good that we keep it running once the
cold weather arrives. The heat output from it is so good that we found we did not need the heating running at all even during this
last winter as we leave all doors in our bungalow open so the stove
in the lounge and the AGA in the kitchen gave us all the heat we needed. We found that it was possible to run it for twenty hours on one loading if it was fully closed which ment that we could go out be sure of coming back to a nice warm bungalow
To sum it up it was the best purchase we have made for quite
    a long while

A stove worthy of the name of Aga, capable of heating a room to almost unbearable (10m x 4m) after about 1 hour enabling us to open the living room door and heat the upstairs. Very easy to control although as mentioned the top vent is prone to sticking a little if not used regularly, however it frees easily and with the rear flue option it boils a kettle in 5 minutes, more money saved.

Needs just a little experience to get the best out of the Little Wenlock. Just believing that it will work so well when the bottom wheel is closed/almost closed after it is up to working temperature is the key. It then becomes finely tunable in conjunction with the damper. It then provides splendid heating in what has hitherto been a difficult room to heat under some circumstances.
By being under the 5 kwh rating one is spared the extra expense of fitting the legally required separate air supply, which would involve not only ducting but creating an opening through an insulated cavity wall. The dogs love it too ! Recommended by us.

I did a lot of research before committing to this stove and I have to say I am impressed. It has transformed the house. A very easy stove to light, use and maintain and it kicks out the heat without guzzling the fuel. Do yourself a favour and avoid the imported rubbish. Buy a piece of British excellence!
