The Little Wenlock is Aga’s most popular and versatile stove. The perfect blend of old and new, it combines a contemporary looking clear glass window with traditional moulded detailing , arched side panels and the distinctive wire handle so reminiscent of an Aga – which means that it will look perfect in almost any setting. With an output of up to 5kW (79% efficiency in Solid Fuel and Wood model) it is ideal for small to medium sized rooms in a house or flat.

June 7th, 2011This is a great little wood burner. We wanted to add some warmth and character in our newly purchased, cold, 1930’s house, but only had a small opening in the chimney breast, ruling out many larger models. We needn’t have worried, this really suits the house and heats all of our open plan downstairs rooms in no time. The warmth travels upstairs as well so it’s toasty for bed time! We were going to open up the other fireplace in the adjoining room and put another stove in but it was not necessary. It was a lifesaver when ice in the oil pipes rendered our boiler useless the past two winters. The only reservation we have is the size of wood we can fit in – we cut it ourselves so it takes a bit more time to prepare, but if we bought split logs in we would probably be ok. Overall a great buy, and we got it at a very competitive price. Highly recommended.

It’s air wash works very well, so I never have to clean the glass.
I wished I’d purchased one years ago.

June 7th, 2011Excellent little work horse, Fantastic output, far exceeded or expectations.
First class design and does exactly what it says on the tin,
Would fully recommend the little Wenlock.
We live in a 1930 semi with extended room dimension of 24’x 13 suspended floors with wood covering. and ajoining room of 13’x 13′ also same floor layout, and this little stove confortable heats the room on it’s own with the rediators turned off, and provides adequate background heat through out the house during those chilly days.
Buy this stove with confidence.

June 7th, 2011We have an fairly large upstairs bedroom which we use as our main living room because of the spectacular views out of the window
Originally, there was a small fire & fireplace which was a cosy focal point for the room especially on cold winter nights
However, we have oil-fired central provided by our Rayburn cooker & found that lighting a fire was more trouble than what it was worth. The chimney (being a fairly short draught) would occasionally blow back smoke & there was always a problem with dust
As the price of oil has relentlessly risen we decided to turn more to burning solid fuel. (We have an almost limitless supply of wood, growing our own coppicing) We still rely on the Rayburn for cooking (& it always provides hot water)
We got our builder to line our two remaining chimneys (The Rayburn chimney had been lined many years previously)& install an Aga Little Wenlock upstairs & a Stovax downstairs (see seperate review)
The Aga Little Wenlock was chosen for its low output (we didn’t need any additional boilers!) & its Aga name
It turned out to be the perfect choice. Just the right heat for the room & very responsive controls
It’s very easy to light, good looking & minimal mess, being easy to fill & empty
We would recommend to anyone who has a relatively small area to heat up & does not require any additional boiler to heat the water

June 8th, 2011Excellent little stove.
We are in a 1950’s semi and it can easily heat our lounge and dining room on its own through the winter. We only use our central heating in the kitchen and upstairs now. It has saved us so much money on gas!
We installed ourselves after getting an independent chimney sweep to check our chimney was in good condition and have never looked back.
Would gladly recommend for anyone, it’s so easy to light and gives out a cracking amount of heat.
Excellent

June 9th, 2011This is a great stove. I chose the glazed enamelled version because I liked the look of it and it is very easy to look after. The design of the air control means it is never too hot to handle because the intake air all enters around the disc keeping it cool. Similarly the door handle, by its design, keeps it cool at all times, especially since being stainless steel it does not conduct heat well. Gloves or special tools are never needed. The stove however gives out masses of heat. It is incredibly efficient. The only thing I felt necessary and therefore did it myself, was to add gaskets where the feet join to the body. This to protect the enamel. It would not be necessary on the non glazed version. Full marks AGA for a superb product!
