Morso 3140 Badger Cleanheat

Morso 3140 Badger Stove Review

The 6kW Morso Badger Cleanheat is a fine example of high quality ‘heating furniture’ with it’s smooth contemporary lines and perfect proportions making it ideal in both traditional and modern homes. The large glass panel provides beautiful unobstructed closed-door fire viewing. The Morso Badger comes with a heavy duty ash pan that makes ash removal easy without the need to manually shovel ashes out of the firebox. Rear and bottom heat sheilds protect adjacent walls and floor. A reversible flue collar provides installation flexibility to vent directly off the top or from the rear of the stove.

Having used many log burners I have been most impressed with Morso. They are attractive, easy to use, to control and maintain. I am most impressed by the clean burn features which means that our stove is the least smaelly on our street by a long way. Also the suppliers guidelines on matching stove output to room size were excellent- allowing us to use the stove most efficiently. This helps to keep the glass clean, the room warm and fuel use low

This is a truly stunning little stove of exceptional build quality.
We wanted an airwash stove, and have previously had a ‘Clearview’ stove which have always performed well. The Morso matches it for airwash performance. We do regularly clean the glass to keep it crystal clear, but any deposit is only ever slight, and only gets bad if you try to reduce the air flow too much.

The only aspect which I do not think is as good as the clearview, is that the level of control over air flow is not great. That said, a big factor here could be that we do not have have a flue so getting draw etc from a big chimney is slightly harder.

All in all a great product with which we are absolutely delighted.

A great little stove that has turned winter into summer. So little fuel and so much warmth. We have central heating but the radiator in the stove room is redundant. Where is the ash? It burns so efficiently that I only clean it out when I need some for the garden. It’s multi fuel but we only use logs. It lights up so easily with a little newspaper and some small sticks, get it hot and sit back and enjoy. Yes, if you close the air flow down to the minimum the glass does get a little cloudy but a wet wipe in the morning brings it back to crystal clear. No smoke or smell outside once it heats up so no complaints from the neighbors. No regrets.

I have had 3 stoves before this Morso, they were steal bodied. When looking to purchase this time I specifically wanted a cast iron fire and my first thought was to go for a Morso due to the reputation for quality.

I have not been disappointed ! We use our fire almost every day from October through to April and it is difficult to fault this excellent fire. It’s easy to use, burns very cleanly and efficiently and re-lights quickly if the logs have burnt out but the fire and ash are still hot.

The removable handle is simple to fit and saves you having to wear a glove to re-fuel.

The air wash system is the best I’ve experienced compared to previous fires. The glass hardly ever need cleaning.

The only very minor issue is that the ash can doesn’t catch all the ash. About 10% has a tendency to fall either side of the can and needs to be cleared out about every 5-10 ash can empties.

I would definitely recommend this fire, or for that matter, any other Morso stove. If I am ever in a position to buy another (due to another house move !) I would always go for Morso.

A neat looking stove of good quality which easily lights and is easy to control. The glass will darken considerably if you do not take care with the two air intakes. The griddle is not that efficient and jams when using solid fuels and the arm of the griddle will detach easily. This is really the only fault -poor design.Overall worth buying.
