Stovax Stockton 3

Stovax Stockton 3 Review

The Stockton 3 is the baby of the range and is specifically designed to fit neatly into a standard 22″ (560mm) high x 16″ (405mm) wide British fireplace opening with the chairbrick removed. It has full multi-fuel capability and its compact dimensions make this stove equally suitable for houseboats, summerhouses and garden workshops.

Cold, I hate the cold! Now, looking at me you wouldn’t think I was the cold type, I have plenty of errrrrrm personal insulation, but I really do feel the cold. I live in a small drafty cottage and wanted to get a multi fuel stove, to help heat the house and create that cosy country cottage feeling.

I started doing some research on the internet and discovered that my opening was too tight for most models! However I spotted the Stockton 3 on the fires online website. The Stockton three is designed to fit in a standard builders opening. I also liked that the design was quite plain and it was multi fuel.

Researching price fires Online came out top and the free register plate, flu pipe, gloves and delivery sealed the deal. I found the company very easy to deal with and their communication was excellent. I was kept well informed throughout the process. Delivery was great and the driver was very friendly and helpful and on time!

Now my stove is installed, I had it installed by and expert who also lined the chimney. Installation in to my small opening went smoothly and the stove looks great. It’s a real focal point of the room. Despite the super cold winter I have stayed roasty, toasty, cosy! I have burned both coal and wood, I have found coal to last longer and give out more heat but nothing beats the crackling and smell of wood.

I could go on about the specific features but what sold me on this stove was the size and simple design. I am really pleased that I managed to find something to fit snugly in my small opening 😉

What an excellent little stove! We only have a small fireplace and do have central heating but my husband was adamant he wanted a wood burner! This little thing looks perfect, is easy to light and use and produces a heck of a lot of heat. The only downside is that you can only use small logs in it so when you get logs, you have to cut them down – other than that, can’t fault it. The supplier were excellent too – great price with the extras included and quick delivery. Only let down by the courier but hey, not everyone’s perfect. I’d recommend this stove without hesitation.
