One of the most popular models, the Stockton 4 is available as a wood burner order multi-fuel model. It is ideally suited to smaller rooms and both traditional and contemporary interiors. The Stockton 4 incorporates the very latest cleanburn technology, burning wood or solid fuel with outstanding efficiency. It works by using three separate airflows: primary air to burn solid fuel in the conventional way, plus airwash air to keep the window clean and pre-heated secondary or cleanburn air to burn excess hydrocarbons in the smoke. The Stockton 4 can also be used in smoke exepmt area with the addition of the smoke control kit.

June 7th, 2011I wouldnt be without this fire – It has been the best thing i have bought in ages. I had a hunter before but this lights much easier. The airwash system is sometimes a little too good as my logs do not last as long as i would hope but it has cut my gas heating bill right down as it warms all of my 2 bed semi. It is so easy to lite and maintain and stays in all night when needed – its great!

June 8th, 2011Very good stove, and superb for the price. Well made and looks smart. Good balance of modern but classic design (in my opinion). There’s a knack to getting it working at it best, but that’s half the fun! (Get plenty of kindling and wood on to get the heat right up, then add larger logs, often 2 at a time which will then slow down the burn rate). Easy to light, though better if kindling has been kept in the house (dry and warm). Easy to control, improved by adding a stove thermometer. Airwash works reasonably well, though we find we still clean the inside of the glass regularly for a really clear view. We like to clean with a small, soap impregnated brillo pad, works great and doesn’t scratch the glass. Door looks nicely, very solid. It was the best size for our space, though is quite limited on log length. Like the combo of heavy steel and cast iron in the design. Overall delighted with the stove. next purchase will be a chainsaw having ‘cheated’ last year with a hippo back of cut, split, dry wood!

June 16th, 2011Good little stove.
The secondary air (airwash) control is a bit limited (about 10mm of movement between fully open and fully closed) which makes fine tuning the airflow a bit of a pain.
Other than that its Ace

July 17th, 2011This little stove got me through the past winter! It perfectly fits the site of an old range (long removed) in my small terraced house and has made my kitchen-diner the most used downstairs room. The stove is easy to use and heats up fast – mine is of steel rather than iron – and pretty easy to keep clean. The air wash system aids the spread of heat and cheer throughout the downstairs. I had not appreciated how important I would find it outside of winter – I use the stove throughout the year when I need a bit of heat; it is especially comforting on a damp, late spring evening!
