Equally at home in traditional or modern settings, the Stockton 7 is not only well-proportioned but also offers significant heating potential whether burning wood or solid fuel. Produced as a woodburning stove, it can be easily adapted to multi-fuel use with the optional riddling grate. The Stockton 7 incorporates the very latest cleanburn technology. Burning wood or solid fuel with outstanding efficiency, resulting in more heat delivery into the room and less going up the chimney. It works by using three separate airflows: primary air to burn solid fuel in the conventional way, plus airwash air to keep the window clean and pre-heated secondary or cleanburn air to burn excess hydrocarbons in the smoke.

June 7th, 2011I cannot praise this fire enough, its a delight to own,it has exceeded all my expectations, an esae to light and control, I use an ash vac to remove what little ash there is,once aweek. It does benifit from a bed of ash when lighting and features a clean burn. Looks great in the original fireplace being a inset. A cosy log fire.

June 7th, 2011This is an excellent stove. I run it only on logs and it heats most of our 3 bed house. I got this after seeing a mates and since 2 others have got the same fire. It burns very little wood for the heat it produces and is happy with logs or broken pallet.
The only down side is small lip (1/2cam) on bottom of door that drops a little ash sometimes but no more that any other fire. It is very easy to ignite and warms up quickly.

June 7th, 2011(See review of Aga Little Wenlock fitted upstairs)
We had got our builder to line our chimneys & fit the Aga Little Wenlock stove in our upstairs living room
We were very impressed with the effect the little stove had upstairs but also disappointed that our large old Jetmaster open fire in our (much larger) downstairs living room continued to blow back smoke on occasion. Also we found the newly installed Aga stove so much less messy & more controllable
We decided to remove the old Jetmaster open fire & replace it with the Stovax 7
The main reasons for opting for the Stovax were:-
1. The output was about right for the area (we did not require any additional boilers as our oil-fired Rayburn cooker supplies more than ample)
2.After much careful measuring we decided that the Stovax 7 would fit closely in the gap left by the Jetmaster fire that we were removing. (As it turned out the fit couldn’t have been better!)
3.We liked the appearance of the stove
We have been very happy with the Stovax. We bought the version without the canopy (The original Jetmaster fire had a copper canopy above it which we painted with matt black stove paint to match when the stove was installed ~ which looks really good!)
The build quality is not as good as the little Aga but is more than adequate. The metal plate around the innside of the glass distorted a little with the heat & the insulating rope around the doors needed to be re-glued
The ash tray & lifting handle for the ash tray, although adequate, do not look very robust
These are fairly minor quibbles, & overall we think this is a very good stove at a very reasonable price
We are very happy with it!

January 19th, 2012COSY and EFFICIENT!
We bought this last year and we love it. It heats our large lounge and dining room which are open plan and the heat travels to warm our entire bungalow. There is no need to have the central heating on when you are just in the lounge area.
If the glass does blacken it is normally because we have had the vents shut down so it has been burning slow, but it soon clears once you turn it up again. We are amazed how easy to light and control the stove is and the flames look beautiful whether it is roaring away or just a gentle lick of flames which seem to dance and burst which makes it such a lovely feature.
We highly recommend this stove for it’s functionality and if you like seeing the flames it is a good choice because of the large window.
A little ash does fall out as mentioned above but we agree that this would happen with most real fires and if like us you agree that you can’t beat the real thing then this will not bother you one bit.
